What on Earth is a Celiac ?

"Is Candida Albicans a trigger in the onset of celiac disease?"

This interesting study compares a specific amino acid sequence found in Candida cell wall protein to a gliadin amino acid sequence that triggers the immune response in celiac disease. The researchers found that the sequences are “identical or highly homologous to known celiac disease-related alpha-gliadin and gamma-gliadin T-cell epitopes,” and PROPOSE THAT CANDIDA IS THE TRIGGER FOR CELIAC DISEASE....Lancet. 2003 Jun 21;361(9375):2152-4.

To clarify, this research shows that a protein found in the cell wall of Candida is very similar to gluten. As a result, the immune system can confuse gluten found in grains for the cell wall of the Candida and then mount a response against the gluten! The immune cell bound gluten then damages the small intestinal wall as in Celiac Disease!

"It is now clear that the textbook description of this once-obscure ailment is woefully incomplete and describes only a minority of cases. Below the tip of the so-called Celiac
iceberg is a diverse world of illness that may include thousands of people suffering
from various, seemingly unrelated conditions, such as anemia, osteoporosis, infertility, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and chronic fatigue."

"Here's a disease for which there are good tools for diagnosis
an effective remedy and the potential of relieving a large population of people from a lot of misery and discomfort, and yet the disease is being grossly undiagnosed."

My hope in offering this booklet
is that this
information will contribute to an overall heightened awareness in the general public about this disease. If you find that your symptoms are not Celiac Disease, then please pass this information on to your loved ones or someone else you know that may fit the Celiac Disease
profile!

Do you fit the Celiac "profile"?

Are you currently being treated for:

 Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Crohn's disease

Pancreatitis

Digestive Disorders

Gall Bladder Disease

You
may actually
be suffering
from
Celiac Disease!

Our new booklet can help you
determine the truth..

The chronic digestive disorder, Celiac Disease, is not well known and often overlooked. Instead, it is most frequently misdiagnosed as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) or another chronic digestive disease. In cases where the main symptoms are non-digestive symptoms such as anemia and fatigue, the condition might be misdiagnosed, not as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), but as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, depression, or even other fatigue-causing disorders.

And those with Celiac Disease are frequently dealing with at least one other autoimmune disease such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis,
chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia syndrome, multiple sclerosis, to name a few. It is also thought that Candida Albicans, or an overgrowth of yeast in the body,
may predispose or trigger Celiac Disease.

Research shows
that a protein found in the cell wall of Candida
is very similar to gluten.
As a result, the immune system
can confuse gluten found in grains
for the cell wall of the Candida
and then mount a response against the gluten!

The immune cell bound gluten then damages the small intestinal wall as in Celiac Disease! arch shows that a protein found in the cell wall of Candida is very simiilar to gluten. As a result, the immune system can conwall as in Celiac
Are you unable to conceive?

Even someone experiencing infertility may be a Celiac; 16% of infertility patients are Celiacs!

Celiac Disease was recently cited
by Reader's Digest as one of the
top 10 misdiagnosed diseases.

Many are told that their symptoms are psychosomatic that they have another digestive disease.

And studies indicate that an adult
with Celiac Disease will remain undiagnosed
an average of eleven long years...
or longer...before discovering they have Celiac Disease
.

Eleven years is a long time to suffer without knowing what is wrong with you! Many will continue to experience secondary autoimmune disease and chronic illness that may be directly related to going years without a proper diagnosis! This disease is not about a food allergy. Celiac Disease can impact generalized systemic health issues throughout your body, and can make you very ill!

Recent studies give proof
that 1 in 133 people in this country
are Celiacs...

...most likely not diagnosed Celiacs, because as recently as three to five years ago data about the frequency of Celiacs in the USA was 1 in 4700! Many doctors in this country simply are not knowledgeable about this disease.

Are many of those diagnosed
with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
actually Celiacs?

Irritable Bowel Syndrome
is the most common misdiagnosis
given to Celiacs!

As of this writing, it is unknown what actual percent of the cases of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) in this country are truly Celiacs. But current data supports information that 10-20% of the general population in this country have been diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). It is the most common disease diagnosed by Gastroenterologists (specialists in disorders of the stomach and intestines), and one of the most common disorders seen by primary care physicians.

Children who are undiagnosed Celiacs
often suffer needlessly..

Children are often diagnosed with "failure to thrive" or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and suffer needlessly because of the frequency that Celiac disease is overlooked.  These are children who seem to be irritable and struggle with issues like fatigue and weight loss, despite eating well.

Celiac Disease can also present with few symptoms and can be associated with autoimmune diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis, anemia, osteoporosis, chronic fatigue syndrome, and infertility. In people with IBS or Irritable Bowel Syndrome, symptoms result from what appears to be an irritable disturbance in the intersection between the bowels or intestines, brain, and the autonomic nervous system that alters regulation of bowel movements. Celiac disease is most commonly misdiagnosed as irritable bowel syndrome or IBS, gall bladder disease, Crohn's disease or ulcer or other irritable digestive or intestinal or bowel disease. Irritable Bowel Syndrome or IBS is characterized by a group of bowel symptoms (similar to Celiac Disease), in which abdominal pain or irritable bowel discomfort is associated with a change in bowel pattern such as loose or more frequent bowel movements, diarrhea, and/or constipation. All or most of these bowel syndromes or intestinal disorders or irritable bowel syndromes can show signs similar to Celiac Disease and other bowel disease and can manifest with symptoms of severe diarrhea, abdominal pain and cramping, and weight loss, to name a few. Learn the difference between Celiac Disease and Irritable Bowel Syndrome or IBS and other bowel disease, such as Crohn's disease, gall bladder disease, colitis, various digestive disease and intestinal disease syndromes. Irritable bowel syndrome or IBS, like Celiac Disease, occurs more commonly in women, and can begin late in adolescence.

IBS may be related to psychological stress and is commonly marked by an abnormally active or even irritated lower bowel. For IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and Celiac Disease, a diet low in fat is beneficial. In IBS, symptoms can be also decreased by following a lactose free diet. IBS symptoms are almost identical to those of Celiac Disease with symptoms such as diarrhea, or even constipation. Again, like Celiac Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome or IBS is understood as a multi-faceted irritable digestive disorder. Celiac Sprue is not an allergy. It is a genetic, inheritable immunologic disease which interferes with the digestion process.
